GCHS shelter animals depend on you, our generous friends. We thank you in advance for supporting our work with the animals.

There are so many ways to help and all are important! Click the arrows to learn more about any of our programs. 

  • Aluminum Cans

    If you wish to donate aluminum cans, we have an account set up at Behr Recycling Center. Simply take your cans in and let them know that you wish to donate them to GCHS. Our account will be credited OR you may bring them to the shelter.

  • Animal Sponsorship

    Contribute monthly to the care of a cat or dog! 



  • Amazon Smile

    For those of you who shop online, GCHS is part of the Amazon Smile program. Just choose Green County Humane Society as your preferred charity!

  • Buy a Brick

    Looking for a special way to commemorate a loved one or a special milestone? Brick pavers can be purchased for placement at the new shelter and will be engraved with your personal message! There are two different sizes available. The brick project will be ongoing. Each spring we will place all bricks purchased in the previous year.

  • IRA Required Minimum Distributions

    Most people age 70 1/2 or older must take a minimum distribution from their IRA accounts annually or face huge IRS penalties on the amount they should have withdrawn. But this additional taxable income might push you into a higher tax bracket and/or reduce your eligibility for certain tax credits and deductions. 


    If you transfer those funds to Green County Humane Society, you can eliminate or reduce the impact of that income while also saving the lives of homeless pets!  


    You can transfer up to $100,000 from your IRA, and the distribution won’t count as taxable income.

  • Membership

    Each year, hundreds of companion animals come through our doors: scared, abused, alone, waiting for the love they deserve. Your membership helps each animal get a new start by providing food, veterinary care, foster

    training, and socialization while they await their forever family. We ask that you consider becoming an Annual Member so we can continue to provide the best care possible for the dogs and cats still waiting. 


    Or, consider becoming a Monthly Supporting Member. Supporting members helps not only with our animal services at the shelter, but also allows us to offer additional programs such as spay and neuter clinics,

    vaccination events, microchip drives, and community outreach programs. 


    Membership benefits include voting rights at the Green County Humane Society Annual Meeting, email updates, invitations to special events, and the benefit of knowing that you are helping to support some very special

    animals. We hope we can count on you to help support the future of the shelter.

  • Memorial/In Honor Donations

    Leave a lasting legacy by donating funds in honor/memory of a loved one. 


  • Online Fundraisers

    You can help by creating your own Facebook fundraiser for GCHS! Whether it's to celebrate a milestone or just because, every dollar raised supports the mission of getting animals into loving homes!

  • Reserve Medical Fund

    The Reserve Medical Fund is for medical care for cats and dogs that exceeds our veterinary limits. This fund helps pay for extra surgeries and medical care beyond routine spay/neuters and vaccinations. 



  • Thrivent Choice Dollars

    Grant funding from Thrivent Financial through its Thrivent Choice® program can help support

    organizations you care about. 


    Eligible Thrivent Financial members who have Choice Dollars available can choose which organization they wish to support. Help support Green County Humane Society by allocating your Choice Dollars.
