Area Vets Help GCHS
MONROE -- Thanks to the generosity of area veterinarians, the Green County Humane Society was able to save a significant amount of money in 2007. Vets throughout Green County and the surrounding area have generously donated their time, use of facilities and services to help support the humane society by providing free and reduced cost spays, neuters and other medical care for dogs and cats at the shelter. Because of their donated services, the shelter has been able to save money while maintaining excellent veterinary care for shelter animals. Vets have also been able to secure at-cost medications and supplies for the shelter. Vets offering services free of charge or at a reduced rate include: Monroe Veterinary Service, Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center; Orangeville Veterinary Service; Evansville Veterinary Service; and Argyle Veterinary Service. “The donations these vets have made has provided a huge boost for the Green County Humane Society,” GCHS president Yvonne Schutte. “Not only does it save us a significant amount of money, but it also gives us the opportunity to draw from a wide base of veterinarians with a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience. The society is sincerely grateful to all the vets who have offered their services to the humane society.”
