ADOPTION PROCESS
Our adoption process is relatively simple. We ask you to fill out an adoption application, which includes questions regarding your housing, what kind of pet you are looking for, past animals owned, plans for this pet, etc. A staff member will go over the application and will ask any questions he/she may have. The staff member will then address any questions that you may have, and touch on some of the expectations you have for this animal. You are welcome to call the shelter between 12pm and 5pm the following business day to inquire about the status of your adoption request. If you would like to hold the animal, you can put a 50% non-refundable holding fee on the animal. This will be applied to your final adoption fee. Animals must be spayed/neutered before leaving the shelter.

ADOPTION COST
The cost to adopt a kitten is $63.00 tax included.
The cost to adopt a dog is $98.00 tax included.
This price includes initial vaccines. The animal will be spayed or neutered, de-wormed and treated with flea & tick treatment.
GET PRE-APPROVED FOR ADOPTION
Return the completed application to us by mail, fax, or email. Please include a note on what animal you are interested in, how we can contact you, and when you believe you will be looking at the animal. We will contact you with notification of approval. At that time a pick up time for your new pet will be discussed.
OUTDOOR ADOPTIONS RESUME
The Green County Humane Society would like to remind potential adopters that outdoor adoptions have resumed for the spring and summer.
GCHS does require a site visit before adopting animals to outdoor homes to make sure living arrangements will be appropriate. Anyone considering an outdoor adoption is encouraged to contact the GCHS shelter as soon as possible to begin the process.
For more information about adoptions, outdoor adoptions or redeeming lost pets, please call the GCHS shelter at 325-9600.
