Pet Food Pantry

The Humane Society of the United States estimates that six to eight million pets enter shelters each year. Of those animals, nearly four million are euthanized each year because of overpopulation in the shelters.

Even more frightening is the rise in unemployment and the number of people unable to care for their pets. The Director of the American Humane Association estimates that 18,000 to 26,000 pets are in danger of losing their homes each day due to high foreclosure and joblessness rates.

Everyone Needs a Home (ENAH) and the Green County Humane Society (GCHS) have partnered to form a Pet Food Pantry aimed at keeping animals with their families and out of overcrowded shelters or, worse, from being abandoned. The Pet Food Pantry will open once a month and serve families in Lafayette and Green Counties who need assistance feeding their pets.

We are making an appeal for your support in helping us keep families together. We can only do this through the generosity of pet food donations. If you are interested in a one-time or ongoing donation, please contact Peggy Miller at (608) 439-1021 or mamiller@everyoneneedsahome.org. If you are interested in sponsoring a donation drive at your place of business or with a community organization, please contact Paul Barrett at (608) 328-4420 or pbarrett@tds.net.

Both ENAH and GCHS are 501(c)3 charities and your donation is tax deductible.

We thank you for your time and your contribution to help keep animals with their families.
